Registered Dietitian Services for Lasting Weight Management

At Anatomy Mechanics Therapy & Wellness, we believe lasting weight management is about far more than a number on the scale. Our registered dietitian services address the full picture: your body, your habits, your mindset, and your health as a whole.

We build every plan around four pillars of evidence-based obesity treatment:

  • Nutrition
  • Physical activity
  • Behavior modification
  • Medication management

We don't believe in band-aids or quick fixes. Instead, we work with you to uncover the root causes of your weight struggles, whether metabolic, hormonal, behavioral, emotional, or lifestyle-related, and target treatment where it matters. The result is a plan that's both effective and sustainable long-term.

Our goal isn't only to help you lose weight. It's to help you develop the tools, skills, and confidence to keep it off:

  • Navigate real-life situations
  • Work through plateaus
  • Manage setbacks
  • Build habits that support your health for years to come

There is no one-size-fits-all approach here. Every body is different, every journey is unique, and every client receives an individualized, personalized plan built around their medical history, lifestyle, goals, and preferences.

This journey takes commitment, consistency, and courage, and it isn't always easy. But you don't have to do it alone. You'll have expert guidance, accountability, and support every step of the way.

We-Treat

What Our Registered Dietitian Services Include

Our dietitian services pair a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) with a structured, individualized plan addressing nutrition, movement, behavior, and, where appropriate, medication support. Rather than a one-size-fits-all diet, nutrition counseling is built around your health history, lifestyle, goals, and challenges.

The goal isn't simply to tell you what to eat. It's to help you develop an approach that's realistic, sustainable, and appropriate for your individual circumstances.

Nutrition Support

  • Dietitian-designed guidance and personalized calorie and macronutrient targets where indicated
  • Nutrition for exercise: practical strategies for fueling before and after activity
  • Nutrition for recovery: identifying what your body needs during periods of increased activity or healing
  • Sustainable strategies that fit your lifestyle, not short-term restriction
  • Healthy weight management guidance built around sustainable habits rather than restrictive diets or quick fixes

Customized Exercise & Movement Programs

Physical activity is essential for metabolic health and lasting weight maintenance. Programs are designed to build strength, preserve muscle, and help you move in ways that feel safe, effective, and sustainable.

GLP-1 Nutrition Support

  • Access to GLP-1 therapy, including treatments such as semaglutide and tirzepatide, to help improve fullness, reduce food noise, and support appetite regulation
  • Nutrition support alongside your medication to help protect muscle mass and support adequate nutrition
  • Guidance on managing medication side effects throughout treatment

Pre-Bariatric and Post-Bariatric Nutrition

Nutrition plays an important role before and after bariatric surgery. Jennifer specializes in bariatric nutrition and provides individualized support as clients navigate changes in their nutritional needs and eating habits, before and after their procedure.

Advanced Body Composition Analysis

Weight is more than a number on the scale. Monitoring fat mass, lean muscle, and visceral fat helps evaluate whether you're losing weight in a way that protects your metabolism, preserves muscle, and supports overall health.

Behavioral & Mindset Coaching Lasting change goes beyond knowing what to eat. Evidence-based strategies such as motivational interviewing help you work through barriers, strengthen habits, improve your relationship with food, and address stress and emotional eating with compassion and support.

Your Program Journey

Initial Comprehensive Assessment (60 minutes)

Your first visit is a deep dive into you: your health history, lifestyle, and goals, so we can create a personalized, sustainable plan for long-term success.

This session includes:

  • Medical history, weight history, and recent lab review. Identifies metabolic, hormonal, and medical factors that may be affecting your weight and guides safe, effective recommendations.
  • Current lifestyle, routine, and daily habits. Your schedule and routines shape what's realistic and sustainable.
  • Obesity medication (GLP-1) or bariatric surgery status, if applicable. Helps nutrition strategies support your medication or surgical journey and optimize results while minimizing side effects.
  • Nutrition and exercise habits. Identifies what's working, what isn't, and where small changes can create meaningful impact.
  • Relationship with food. Mindset, emotional eating, and past dieting experience inform a healthier, more balanced relationship with food.
  • Sleep habits and stress levels. Sleep and stress influence hormones, appetite, and weight regulation.
  • Motivation and personal goals. Clarifies your "why" to keep the plan aligned with your values.
  • Personalized calorie and macronutrient goals, if indicated. Individualized targets support fat loss, muscle preservation, and metabolic health.
Follow-Up Visits (30 minutes)

Follow-up sessions provide ongoing guidance, accountability, and support as you implement your plan and navigate real-life challenges.

Each visit includes:

  • Progress review toward your goals
  • Ongoing education on the "why" behind recommendations
  • Personalized plan adjustments as your body, schedule, and needs change
  • Medication side-effect management and nutrition support, if on GLP-1s or post-surgery
Recommended Follow-Up Schedule
  • First 3 months: bi-weekly, to establish habits and manage medication or surgical transitions
  • After 3 months: monthly, based on your progress and support needs
  • Weight maintenance: every 3 months, for long-term accountability and relapse prevention

Follow-up sessions are structured as 3-month packages to support continuity of care, accountability, and long-term success.

Meet Your Registered Dietitian

Jennifer

Jennifer Minieri, MS, RDN, LD, CSOWM

With nearly a decade of experience in nutrition, Jennifer specializes in medical weight management, GLP-1 medication support, and pre-bariatric and post-bariatric nutrition. She combines evidence-based nutrition care with a practical, compassionate approach that meets people where they are.

Jennifer was drawn to nutrition because of her belief in the power of prevention and her passion for helping people move beyond quick fixes to address the habits and underlying factors that influence long-term health.

She believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to health. Jennifer takes the time to understand each person's lifestyle, goals, challenges, and what feels realistic for them. She combines clinical expertise with behavioral strategies and individualized coaching to help clients:

  • Navigate barriers
  • Build confidence
  • Develop sustainable habits

Above all, Jennifer wants her clients to feel comfortable, heard, and supported. She strives to create a non-judgmental space where people can be honest about where they are and feel empowered to take the next step, whether preparing for surgery, considering weight-loss medication, or simply looking to feel healthier and more confident.

Why Choose This Program

What sets this program apart isn't just who delivers it. It's how it's built.

  • A whole-body model, not a diet plan. Nutrition, physical activity, behavior modification, and medication management are addressed together, not in isolation.
  • Built-in accountability. A weekly support group is included with every active program, alongside a structured follow-up schedule.
  • A genuinely comprehensive starting point. Your initial assessment covers medical history, labs, lifestyle, sleep, stress, and mindset, not just a quick weigh-in and a handout.
  • More than the scale. Body composition analysis tracks fat mass, lean muscle, and visceral fat, so progress is measured in ways that actually reflect your health.
  • Credentialed care. You're working with a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), not an uncredentialed "nutritionist."
  • Optional and separate from therapy. You don't need to enroll in this program to participate in or benefit from therapy at Anatomy Mechanics Therapy. It's designed to complement the practice's whole-body approach and can be scheduled independently, whether or not you're a therapy patient.

Dietitian vs. Nutritionist: What's the Difference?

The terms dietitian and nutritionist are sometimes used interchangeably, but they don't necessarily mean the same thing.

A registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) has completed specific education, supervised practical training, and credentialing requirements associated with the dietetics profession.
The term nutritionist can have different meanings depending on the state and context. Requirements for using the title may vary.

When you're looking for individualized nutrition guidance, working with a credentialed registered dietitian provides an additional level of professional education and training.

Why Choose a Registered Dietitian?

Nutrition information is everywhere, but not all of it is individualized or appropriate for every person. A registered dietitian helps translate nutrition science into practical recommendations based on your goals, lifestyle, preferences, and circumstances, rather than generalized advice from social media, fad diets, or restrictive programs.

Questions We Get Asked a Lot

I've tried strict diets before and they never stick. Will this be another one?

No, and we understand why you'd ask. Nutrition counseling here is built around your lifestyle, preferences, schedule, and goals, not a rigid list of rules. We're aiming for habits you can realistically keep, not a plan you white-knuckle through for a few weeks.

I don't have a specific health problem. I only want to feel better about my habits. Is that reason enough?

Absolutely. Plenty of people who work with us don't have a diagnosed issue. They simply want guidance from someone who knows what they're doing. Wanting to feel more in control of your habits is a perfectly good reason to start.

I'm already on a GLP-1 medication. Will this replace what my doctor is doing?

Not at all, and it's not meant to. Think of it as support that works alongside your prescribing provider, not in place of them. We'll help with side effects and day-to-day nutrition, while your provider continues managing the medication itself.
